From the beginning of its
existence, one of the outstanding features of this church
building is the beauty of its stained glass windows. In
1910 when the new building was started, Mrs. C. M. Lyon
assumed a liberal part of the finances, with the Ladies Aid
Society raising the funds for a beautiful window in memory of
Dr. Samuel Blain Campbell (1827 - 1906), an early pastor in
the church who served from 1887 - 1891 and again from 1894 -
1902. Three other beautiful windows were given to the
glory of God in memory of pioneer church members and former
ministers by their families and friends. The names of the honorees are inscribed on the windows, and are listed below.

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, "Let
the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them;
for of such is the kingdom of heaven."
This window is at the front of our sanctuary, near the pulpit. It glows especially bright in the afternoon due to its position on the west side of the church. It was donated in honor of Rene Paul Henry (1850 - 1918) and Dannie Knox Henry (1857 - 1930). |

John 11:25 Jesus said to her: "I
am the resurrection and the life. He who believes
in Me, though he may die, he shall live."
This window is near the front of our sanctuary; it is
one of three stained glass windows on the east side of
the building. It was donated in honor of Will A. Strain (1861 - 1907) and features the scripture: "I am the vine, Ye are the branches." |

John 10:11 "I
am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His
life for the sheep."
This is the middle of three windows on the east side
of the sanctuary. It was donated to honor several
members of the Moffett family: Ida Moffett Hammond (1870
- 1922), Ella Moffett Howell (1874 - 1949), Ann Lewis
Moffett Beckley (1852 - 1925), Berta Lee Moffett (1868 -
1943), Nannie Moffett Lavender (1868 - 1926), Mattie
Moffett Anderson (1863 - 1937), Dr. K. J. Moffett (1814
- 1889) and his wife, Anna Moffett (1831 - 1906). |

Mark 14:36 And He said, "Abba,
Father, all things are possible for You. Take this
cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but
what You will."
This window is on the east side of our sanctuary,
near the narthex. It was donated in honor of four of the church's clergy:
Dr. Thomas F. Gallaher (1874 - 1957), Dr. Thomas L. Green
(1876 - 1932), Dr. S. A. McElroy (1860 - 1934), and
Dr. S. B. Campbell (1827 - 1906). It bears the scripture: "He being dead yet
speaketh." |
