Welcome to the Web site of First Family.

That is the fondest way I like to refer to our congregation.

“First,” of course, because we are all part of First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster.

“Family,” because that is who we are.  Our relationships go deeper than just people who see each other on Sunday mornings.  We know each other.  We “rejoice with those who rejoice,” and we “weep with those who weep,” exactly what the apostle Paul urged Christians to do.  But we don’t have to do those things because we’re “following orders.”  We do them naturally, because we are a family.  When a church family suffers a loss, we suffer it, too.  When there is good news, we all rejoice together.

In these pages are family pictures.  These are pictures of people you don’t yet know.  We welcome you to become a part of this family.  It would be my greatest joy to see your picture among these family pictures.  It could be you in the congregation’s picture, worshiping God.  It could be you at a fellowship table, telling stories and enjoying good food and company.  That could be your picture doing some ministry project or singing in the choir.  When you see these pictures, picture yourself among this family.  Make it happen by visiting First Presbyterian Church.
 
It is my profound honor to be pastor of this wonderful congregation.  I sing the praises of our family to my colleagues and friends constantly.  It is a wonderful place to worship and serve God.
