We support a variety
of community and faith-based organizations by
volunteering our time and resources. These
include:
| Lancaster Outreach Center
Lancaster Outreach Center is an
interfaith social service agency committed to
relieving suffering, restoring dignity, and
promoting self-sufficiency by providing
assistance and support in Lancaster, Wilmer, and
Hutchins. Services include: emergency assistance,
transportation assistance, mental health program,
and special programs such as Back to School Wish
List and the Giving Tree Christmas Shoppe.

The Lancaster Outreach Center distributes
thousands of bags of
groceries each year. The Client Choice Food
Pantry allows clients to select food for
their families, much like a trip to the grocery
store. This method of distribution is
more empowering for the clients, while at the
same time helps to ensure better use of the food as
each client is able to select the foods his
or her family will enjoy. For this process to
work, the Outreach Center periodically seeks the
participation of area church congregations in
providing specific items. |
|
First Church members
provide monthly donations
of food and other essentials to the
Food Pantry.
Please check the Calendar
to
see what LOC has requested for the current month. |

LOC's Executive
Director, Ronnie Lowe, recently extended special thanks to First
Church for our continuous faithful support of the Outreach
Center. He said that per member, we donate more
goods, services, and financial support to LOC than any other
church in town. We may be small in number, but we are
mighty in our deeds!
